Powerful embedded PC/104 computing for all
Priced to make powerful embedded PC/104 computing
available to the majority of industrial budgets and requirements,
the new ICOP-6270 from Datasound Laboratories Ltd is available with
a passive thermal management system.
Using the VIA CoreFusion 533MHZ processor with a VIA VT82C686B
chipset, the ICOP-6270 has 128Mb of onboard SDRAM memory and shared
system memory options of 8M, 16M or 32M. Graphics are handled by the
integrated 2D/3D AGP2X with an MPEG2 accelerator.
Providing VGA, SVGA, XGA and SXGA resolutions and DSTN/TFT flat
panel support, the RoHS compliant ICOP-6270 features a Realtek 8100B
10/100Mbps Ethernet controller with half or full Duplex capability.
The VIA VT1612A AC97 Codec audio controller is fully compatible with
the AC97 2.0 version.
Flash disk supported, the board has EIDE, FDD, RS232, RS232/485,
parallel, USB and Ethernet interfaces.
Operated from a single 5V supply, the board measures 90 x 96mm and
has an operating temperature of -20°C to +60°C.
Having the best
price/performance ratio in the UK - DSL’s panel PCs are well worth
looking at
DSL's association with the latest embedded
technology continues with our aggressively priced Panel PCs, suiting
many industry sectors. In p articular, the new APC-3x11 and APC-3x12
represent what we believe to be the best value for money products
available in the market.
The APC-3x11 provides exceptional performance, up to 2.8GHz
Pentium 4/1Gb DDR, yet remains one of the lowest cost Panel PCs
available in the UK. Designed for industrial use, the unit sports a
NEMA4/IP65 rated front panel and display options of 12.1/15/17" with
optional resistive touchscreen. Having Dual PCI expansion alongside
CE and FCC Class A approvals, the APC-3x11 is perfect for a
limitless range of commercial and industrial applications.
The APC-3x12 offers a very similar range of functionality to the
developer, but for the first time enables a fully FANLESS solution
using the latest Pentium M 1.7GHz (Celeron M 1.5GHz optional),
coupled with a maximum of 1GB DDR RAM for outstanding performance.
Utilising a 12V DC power supply and with near silent operation, the
unit is perfect for automotive and industrial environments where a
mains connection is impractical.
Both systems boast a wide range of functionality, including RS-232,
and USB 2.0 for almost endless expansion to the latest peripherals.
As you would expect 10/100 LAN is provided universally, allowing
remote updates and administration, particularly useful for POS/POI
operation. The APC range is fully customisable. A choice of either
CompactFlash or 2.5" HDD permits either a desktop OS (i.e. XP Pro),
or for a truly embedded, non-mechanical system, XP Embedded (free
custom image creation for new projects), or any other x86 operating
system.
Both units are ideal for use as a PC based interactive display or
process controller, and due to their low cost and operating
temperature (0°c -50°c) in an ever increasing number of potential
environments.
DSL introduce their first ETX
module with the GX533 processor to aid faster design and production
times
Designed to provide a fully customised embedded
solution with minimal engineering and adaptation costs, the new GX2
ETX module from DSL is a complete processor core enabling a custom
product to be developed and brought to market quickly and easily.
Software
development can begin immediately using the fully featured
development system as the platform while the finished product is
being manufactured.
The format used makes it possible to create an extremely low profile
design.
The 114mm x 95mm board will support Windows 2000, Windows XP,
Windows XP Embedded, Windows CE.NET and Linux. The 400MHz AMD Geode
GX 533 processor supports up to 512MB DDR RAM, full ISA and PCI Bus
expansion, E-IDE interface, serial, parallel, IrDA, USB ports and
10/100 Base-T Ethernet.
A watchdog timer provides protection on a module which also features
a TFT and CRT video controller, AC’97 Codec audio control and has an
operating temperature of 0 - 50°C. Extended temperature versions can
be supplied.

Ultra low power 500MHZ LX800 CPU is the heart of
DSL’s new PCI/104 CPU Module
Designed specifically for embedded applications
requiring ultra-low power the DSL-800LX boasts an overall power
consumption of just 4W, and has all the features required from a
high performance embedded computer.

This fanless module is based on the 500MHz AMD LX800 CPU which gives
it an equivalent performance to an 800MHz processor, yet it still
achieves minimal power requirements.
Ideal for industrial applications that demand no moving parts, the
DSL-800LX offers up to 512MB PC3200 (DDR 400) RAM, 4 x USB 2.0, 2 x
RS232 serial ports and E-IDE Port, it supports CRT/LCD and IDE Flash
Disk, has 10/100 Ethernet and AC97 line in, line out audio, all of
which is contained in a 90 x 96mm footprint.
In addition to these features, the DSL-800LX has a +5V single rail
input, PCI-104 capability and is fully RoHS compliant.
Each board is supplied with a complete cable kit at no extra cost.
As an official Insyde Software partner, Datasound also has access to
the BIOS source code to provide BIOS customisations quickly and
efficiently.
The unit operates at ambient temperatures of between 0°C and +60°C.
New open frame flat panel PC gives a choice of
computer power
The new range of open frame panel PC modules from
Datasound Laboratories Ltd. are fitted with the ICOP-6071 or
ICOP-6047 boards as standard, and customers can choose
from
any other selected modules to suit their specific applications.
The standard system uses a 166MHz low power processor and provides
128MB of onboard DRAM. The 10/100Mbps Ethernet controller has
half/full duplex capability and audio is fully compliant with AC97
V2.1 and uses a DirectSound accelerator.
The board supports Flash memory and offers enhanced IDE, FDD, RS232,
RS232/485, parallel and USB. The system has a working temperature
range of 0° to 50°C.
Add ATX power management to an
embedded system with the new Micronix PV-5127S from Datasound
Laboratories
