The new AHM-6081 from Datasound Laboratories is a compact, industrial, fanless HMI touch panel computer with an 8” TFT LCD (400 cd/m²). It is powered by the Intel Xscale PXA255 processor at 400MHz and offers extremely low power consumption with high performance processing.

The unit features 32MB onboard flash memory for application storage and 128MB DRAM, ideal for most embedded applications. Additional flash memory can be added via the built-in CompactFlash Socket. 2 serial ports are also provided for addition of peripherals such as barcode scanners.

Ethernet provides the interface to connect to a LAN with 2-in/2-out digital I/O available as an optional extra.

Support is provided for both Windows CE 4.2 (Version 5.0 support in Q3 2006) and Linux operating systems with optional pre-installation available.

Its ultra lightweight (3.09lbs) plastic enclosure and screwless panel-mount kit are designed for ease of installation and maintenance. The AHM-6081 is ideal for use as Web Browser, Terminal, and HMI at any level of automation control.

Other standard features include 2 x USB ports (1 x Host, 1 x Client) and a Keyboard/Mouse port. The unit measures just 231 x 50 x 176mm.

A 12/24VDC input allows the AHM-6081 to run from a battery for portable applications. The units operating temperature is set at 0 to +50C.
